Dear Friend,
We are taking up the challenge of raising money for our little sister’s recovery from cancer. Lauren was 8 years old when she was diagnosed with Aml Leukemia on Oct 8, 2002. She went through 5 cycles of Chemo at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Ca. starting Oct 2002. Returning home in March 2003, things looked great until a change in blood work initiated an LP and bone marrow aspiration-she had relapsed in Sept. 2003. More Chemo and remission and then off to City of Hope to prepare for a bone marrow search and transplant. January 2004 more chemo, radiation, and transplant of cord blood. In November 2004, Lauren had relapsed again. After receiving more chemo, Lauren received her second bone marrow transplant in June 2005. Up to this time, Lauren has been doing very well but earlier this year Lauren was diagnosed again with Aml Leukemia along with an acute invasive aspergillosis that almost caused the removal of Lauren’s right eye. At this time, the fight for Lauren’s healing is continuing until her full recovery. We are asking, seeking, and knocking for your help to contribute to Lauren’s overall well-being and support as she continues her battle.
The donations will raise funds for providing:
-A new home
-Water purification system
-Clean environmental housing materials.
-Miscellaneous time-occupants while in the hospital
