"DEVELOP THE WORLD, DEVELOP YOURSELF", is the motto guiding the Institute for International Cooperation and Development -- IICD.

With three schools in the U.S. (Massachusetts, Michigan and CCTG California), IICD trains volunteers from all over the world to act in social and health projects in Africa and Latin America.

More than just humanitarian aid, IICD aims at fostering development in these areas.

Volunteers for Africa are called "Development Instructors", DI's, and they work with agricultural communities, HIV/AIDS prevention, Vocational Schools and Child Aid projects in countries such as Mozambique, Angola, Zambia, Malawi, South Africa and Namibia. These programs are 14 to 20 months long.

Volunteers for Latin America fight poverty shoulder to shoulder with people in need in countries such as Brazil, Belize, Nicaragua and Guatemala. Fight Poverty programs are 9 months long.

At IICD, people from all ages, backgrounds and walks of life get together and promote peace, understanding and development, sharing thoughts, stories, experiences and knowledge with people willing to turn their good intentions into much-necessary ACTION -- people like you.
Nous voulons que vous preniez du plaisir à utiliser le produit quelques heures par semaine, puis que vous nous soumettiez vos commentaires via un site Internet.

grass roots soup kitchen PARIS- all dons accepted (Paris)

France is my adopted country. The initiator of the rights of man, with its motto “ Liberty, Equality, Fraternity, called to me like a mother to her baby. But unfortunately these words, so important to the spirit of France, the hope of humanity, have become little more than an ideology for many French.

For the last year I have sought to spread that fraternity, equally with those in need in Paris. One year, with the liberty to choose between organizations that don’t answer emails or return phone calls, whose doors are locked to the public to whom they advertise to need help from. One year of pristine offices, unending bureaucracy to justify the salaries of paid administrators, one year of volunteering aid for a select portion of the public, until last week when I stumbled upon « chorapourtous ».

With their publicities for Ramadan, I expected this organization to be suspect of a non-Muslim entering its folds. But Tous “everyone” is no lie or exaggeration. We’re talking grass roots soup kitchen.

Their website, http://www.chorbapourtous.org/ led me to their door. Not only was the door open, but people were actually physically working! Someone took my contact info, for the administration, and gave me a tour, introducing me to everyone along the way. From the bureau to the kitchen was controlled chaos; the whole place is in a state of repair/ disrepair. Everyone volunteers their time here and everything from furniture to dish soap is donated, so even the smallest contributions are gratefully accepted and put to use.

The organization can be found daily (except Sunday) serving diner at metros Stalingrad and Barbes. And during Ramadan they occupy a huge tent, where literally thousands from all religions and origins, gather to share dinner, dialogue and the fraternity of France

You too can help. Donations are needed more than ever, as the economy falters and more and more people find themselves in financial peril. And like the story « stone soup » a little goes a long way when resources are pooled, so do your part to make the motto of France once again a reality.

--------Human beings are suffering the most horrendous discrimination for their sexual orientation. Marginalized and sentenced to a short life of pain and suffering because of one decision made during childhood, because the had the
courage to transform their bodies in the search to find their true selves.
From child abuse to infant prostitution, from substance abuse to almost certain AIDS, from human trafficking to torture and even murder.
There is one group working to stop this and help these individuals attain the basic rights and dignity that all individuals deserve.

We are funding all of this work on our own. Please take a second and visit our website SOSDIGNITY.
We need your help, we need your help now. If its money, time, or just your interest, contact us today please. Thanks in advance.
