I would like to swap appartments in january 2010 (untik Januaru 24th). I am the owner of a really nice and very spacious (80 sqm) appartment, beautifully decorated and located in the center of Amsterdam. And I would like to live in Paris in january. The appartment is situated in the Kerkstraat, which is in between the canals... in other words: Rijksmuseum, Anne Frank House, Leidseplein, 9 streets and all nice bars, shops and restaurants are within a walking distance of max 15 minutes. The appartment has one large bedroom which sleeps a couple, there is also a couch in the livingroom that sleeps a single person. There are lots of books, an old skool wooden floor and nice furniture. The bathroom has a bath, there's a fully equipped kitchen, a washing machine, wireless internet and a hifi installation. I am a 29-year old writer, I work as a journalist for one of Holland's main newspapers. I haven't really managed to put up pictures online, but will sent them on request.

After a one-year-travelling sabbatical leave, I�m coming back to France for work and I�m looking a flatshare with some people who know how to live together in a decent place for a reasonable price. Concerning myself, I�m a French guy 27 (hopefully easygoing) and I already lived 4 years as roommate with men, women, smokers or not in France, Australia and Spain. You can trust me for taking part in community life and responsibilities for the shits. I love a good pale ale, chatting in the kitchen at night, hangover when I�m awake with humanity. Last but not least, if there is some Spanish or English native speaker at home it would be just awesome, practicing day to day is the best school.

Apr�s un demi-tour du monde sabbatique je reviens sur Paris pour retrouver mon ancien taf et je cherche donc une coloc tranquille peupl�e d�habitants joyeux et autonomes qui me permettra de vivre dans un appartement d�cent � loyer raisonnable. Je souhaite vivre dans un appart comprenant un salon et o� chacun a sa chambre (je suis sociable mais je tiens � mon intimit�) et une cuisine s�par�e parce que cuisiner dans les placards je n�en ai plus le gout.

Me concernant, j'ai 27 ans, je suis un homme (vu que mon nom ne l�indique pas) et j�ai v�cu plus de 4 ans en coloc en France, Australie et Espagne avec des couples, des c�libataires, des hommes, des femmes, des fumeurs ou non de tabac ou d�autre. Bref, je suis quelqu�un de facile � vivre et vous pouvez me faire confiance pour assumer ma part dans la vie et la gestion collective. J�aime bien : les andouillettes AAAAA, discuter dans la cuisine le soir et les lendemains de f�te si on me r�veille avec humanit�. Je n'aime pas : la t�l� constamment allum�e, les odeurs de pieds et le clinquant ostentatoire. Je ne me d�crirai pas plus longuement, je pense qu�on verra bien en se rencontrant et surtout je ne vous informe pas sur mon orientation politique religieuse ou sexuelle puisque ce n�est pas vos putains d�affaires !

Sinon si ca parle anglais ou espagnol dans la maison c'est encore mieux, je parle couramment anglais je suis d�butant en espagnol et la pratique quotidienne reste la meilleure des m�thodes assimil.
Evidemment tous ces crit�res ne sont pas indispensables

I am looking for an apartment in Paris for three months. My timing is flexible. Anytime during the next six months would be fine.

I am a responsible, single man who would like to swap his sunny, spacious 1BR apartment in the San Francisco Bay Area (in Oakland, 10 minutes by subway [BART] to downtown San Francisco). The apartment is in a small 1920s-era building, with beautiful architectural details. The apartment consists of large living room, good size bedroom, small dining room, and small kitchen. There is a queen-size bed in the bedroom. There is also a twin-size Aerobed for guests. The apartment is very quiet and sunny being on the top floor of a six-story building (which is located on a hill). There are eleven windows with views of the Oakland hills, the bay, and the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. High-speed internet is included. There are washers and dryers just off the lobby of the building.

In addition to being close to San Francisco, the neighborhood has a lot to offer. There are cafes, shops, farmers� markets, and restaurants�including Mediterranean, Mexican, Ethiopian, sushi, Chinese, Thai, and Indian, to name a few. There is a Whole Foods grocery store three blocks away and two health clubs nearby. And most importantly, there is Lake Merritt (a bird sanctuary) just two blocks from the apartment where you can walk and run, picnic, sail, and row�canoeing, kayaking, and sculling. The city of Berkeley and the University of California are only a few minutes away. In the Oakland and Berkeley hills there are fabulous redwood parks with hiking trails and breathtaking views.

If you want, I would consider letting you use my car too. It is an old Saab but it would allow you to visit the beaches in Marin County, the wine country in Napa Valley, and to explore Point Reyes Peninsula. The use of my car would also allow you to see more of San Francisco than you would could possible see otherwise, unless you rented a car or took taxis. You can get to many of the most interesting and beautiful places in San Francisco from the Lake Merritt district of Oakland, where my apartment is located, faster than you can from many neighborhoods in San Francisco. Of course if you prefer, you can take a ferry boat from Oakland to San Francisco. And in terms of weather, Oakland if usually 10 degrees warmer and sunnier because it does not get the deep marine layer of fog that San Francisco does.

I would like to swap my apartment for a quiet, centrally located, one- or two-bedroom apartment in Paris. I have two primary considerations. First, I am an editor for a book publishing company and I need extremely reliable, high-speed internet in order to do my job as I will be working from your apartment. Second, I have a two-year old cat (a Chartreux) which I will be bring with me who is ridiculously well behaved.

So, if you would like to live for a few months in the San Francisco Bay Area in exchange for your apartment in Paris, and you have high-speed internet and no objection to cats, I would love to hear from you. I have more photographs available on request. And we can talk via phone or Skype at your convenience.
